Competitor bikes of the Suzuki Sv650?

I"m looking to buy a Suzuki sv650 for my first bike. I'm having a hard time finding used ones that i like. So I am trying to find bikes that are in the same class. I was looking at the Hyusong Gt650 but I hear quality is bad.
Side note:
I am not looking at or considering 250cc bikes or small gs500 bikes.
So please don't lecture me about killing myself and stuff, cause a bike is only as safe as its rider......at least I'm smart enough not to start off on a gixer.
