One of our works Vans was bumped into from behind on friday, their were 2 employees in it, neither was injured, one said he had a slight ache in the bottom of his back which he had actually complained about earlier in the week.
Anyway I contacted the insurance and gave them the other drivers details etc. as it was not our fault, they then ask if anyone was injured and I stated one of the guys says he has a slight ache in his back (which I know they will follow up anyway).
In the meantime after work, I get a call from the lad complaining about the ache in his back and he asks me the details about the other car etc as he can't remember, I ask him why and he says "I am just on the phone to a compensation lawyer about making a claim about the other driver", I said "Claim for what ? It only happened an hour ago, what have you lost ?", anyway these lawyers are up for it and happy to proceed with a claim etc ???
To me it screams 'Person out to try and get some cash for nothing', thats why all our premiums are so high, people getting paid out for nothing.
He went to doctors yesterday (back in work today, moving around and carrying things with no problem whatsoever) just to tell them he has a bad back so they have it on record for the claim, even though he is our employee and I should be on his side it makes me sick how people can do this.
What do you think his chances are being successful in his claim ?
