Shambles. The opening addresses and we have people moving around behind the speaker.

God help us if this is indicative of the rest of the event's presentation.:eek:
 
I don't think its been too bad, I doubt we'll ever see something on the scale of Beijing's opening ceremony again, not for a long time at least.
 
I'm bored with it all. I think we have been spoilt by past events. Never mind, Scotland will do a brilliant job in four years time. There is one thing that us Brits do well, and that is pomp and pageantry.

I just hope that security is super tight out there.
 
Really beautiful colourful, jewel of a ceremony, simple non techno, and very very colourfully rich.

The lighting goes a long way to set the mood and the costumes are transfixing in thier complexity .

its actually peaceful to watch instead of the usual BRASH in your face LOUD and Proud Tacky techno blasting we normally get .

Bit nervwracking to do sand drawing live in front of millions ...credo

Its certainly well thought out and presented in a fluent and entrancing way.
 
I liked the way they did a lot of the cultural displays after the competitor shad come in. Opening ceremonies often have the disadvantage of not enabling the competitors to see the displays because they are waiting to come in.

Sheila Dixit is obviously very popular as Chief Minister of Delhi- she was cheered twice whenever the otrher speakers mentioned her.
