I'm contemplating on buying a 2005-2007 Ford Escape Hybrid but have read that many people had transmission problems within the first 40,000 miles.
Is this a common problem?
I don't want to buy a SUV and drive it for a few miles until the transmission gives up. I have read that it gives up without warning. Any way to fix this? Your opinions?
The funny thing is the transmission is made by a Toyota supplier in Japan.
$4000 to replace it.
