My dad owns alot of valuable things and I am wondering if it will all still go to me if he has been living for over 7 years with my step mom. I really dont want to see all the belongings get sold (which I know will happen when my dad dies if it goes to my step mom) my dad has two brothers which Im thinking will probably go to them because it sounds more sensible. Basically is there still common law amrriage in california? will it all go to me and my siblings or to my uncles, or my step mom?Or does my dad have to write a living will?
