common GERD symptom

Recently dx with GERD. WEnt from not knowing what was causing hoarseness to full blown GERD symptoms in less than a month.

So far no diet changes or meRAB have been helping with one symptom: basically if feels like pressure in the center of my chest, sometimes with slight burn, but more pressure than anything.

Is this also a common symptom? I am currently taking Zantac 150 twice a day with Gasacom (sp:) as needed.

I am incredibly disheartened from feeling unwell all the time. :(

I would say it is GERD with a few other things. I will post what i have been diagnosed with. It's hard to explain all my symptoms but if you have time you should probably do research on them. I have been taking nexium 40 mg (2x daily) & Zantac 300 mg (2x daily) for a year and my symptoms seem to be worse. I also take carafate 2x daily along with Bentyl 20 mg (3x daily) . I have been diagnosed with IBS, GERD, Gastritis, La Class B Erosive Esophagitis in my (GE Junction) & LA Class A Esophagitis in my (Esophagus). I have been on all 4 medicines for a year & my symptoms are getting alot worse & the drs won't do anything more than an upper GI. I was told by my M.D. to have a Bravo Probe. But i don't know how much more pain I can take. My voice is always hoarse or i lose it 95% of the time, I stay nauseous, I don't eat because my stomach feels full, & stays swollen, & i have gained 50 lbs in less than 2 months. When I do eat i get sick, I constantly clear my throat & it tickles alot & i cough for no reason, I sleep about 2 hours a night for no reason. So, I am looking for a new dr that will help me.

I have a lot of the same problems you do -- well some anyway.
I also have Gastritis, GERD and had my gall bladdder removed last year. SOme people have diah when it is removed-- I have severe constipation. I stay bloated will severe gas pains - they go up into my chest, neck and arms. It's not my heart- it's been checked. (But I do have high blood pressure and had a cardio myopathy). I also have the lump in the back of my throat with a dry cough. I am so bloated and full and uncomfortable I could cry from it. I feel like from my boobs down, my body is full of sludge! ANd I am always hungery, and I crave dill pickles and vinegar! I have also gained about 20 pounRAB in the last 3 months. I am just miserable! I have just been started on a new medicaton - KADIPEX. It has definately helped with the gerd symptoms, but not the constipation. Just took two Ducolax and they probably wont hardly hurt - except give me more gas pains. Do you have the gas pains?

I'm having trouble with why they'd put you on an antispasmodic like bentyl for GERD - seems like it would aggravate the problem.
