Hi all, this is my first posting to the message board, My name is Chris. I have a good friend who has taken his first dose of naltrexone today after not having done any B for 24 hrs. He has been screaming in agony and feels terrible. He said the worst of it is beginning to subside but he has awful stomach cramps. Does anybody know what might help him in this situation? Should he continue taking the Naltrexone as prescibed tomorrow? will britlofex, quinnin, valium, xanax, codine, trazodone, zopiclone or anything else perhaps help in the short term? It is admirable that he has taken this route to recovery and I want him to succeed. Any advice would be greatly apreciated.

Your friend should seek medical help and talk to a doctor about how he is feeling and reacting to the drug. I'm assuming that it is a prescribed drug. If his reactions are so drastic, you might want to go to an emergency room.

Was he on opioid drugs before he took it? It might be causing fast detox and he's getting all of the withdrawals at once. Again, I would talk to the prescribing physician about his reaction and if that was expected.
