There's a great article I read about editors here on this site:

But I'm still a bit unsure.
I'm working on an independent comic (well graphic novel really) and I've begun creating the panel script for my artist. Then it hit me, it's probably a good idea to get a second read from an unbiased source before I do the panel script so it's easier for that person to read and I have all the possible errors corrected before I start getting down and dirty with the panel script. But the big question I have is on the editor. Some places say I don'n need one since I'm not affiliated with a commercial studio. Editors for books say that it's a good idea to have one to have the best possible script possible for publishers. Well I found many book editors, but no editors specific for comic book / manga that aren't affiliated with a commercial studio already.
So do I really need an editor? Or will I be ok with a proofreader and maybe some friends (or something) to read through it?
