I've had similar issues. I'm guessing if you have a computer and a PS3, then you have a router hooked up to your cable modem? So, first things first, let's figure out where your problem lies:
1. Unplug the cable between your cable modem and your router.
2. Plug the ethernet cable from your cable modem into the PS3 network port.
3. Unplug your cable modem, count to 10, and plug it back in.
4. Set your PS3 to Easy Network configuration, auto everything.
5. Check if you can now connect to the internet from your PS3.
If #5 fails, then you need to talk to RoadRunner support.
If #5 succeeds, then you're looking at an issue with your router blocking connectivity from the internet to your PS3. This is solvable a couple of ways, but they all involve advanced router configuration, which will be different for each router.
- Enable UPnP on your router (try this first)
- Set up your PS3 to use a manual IP address (probably something like 192.168.1.151)
- Turn off your router firewall
- Setup DMZ for your PS3.
More detailed instructions for these advanced scenarios can be found on the official Sony PS3 forums here:
