The comcast technician was just here to install my new cable. He connected the cable box to my new 1080p tv via a coax cable. I asked him about component or hdmi cables and he said that he was out of them, but that the picture quality for HD channels would be the same with the coax cable. However, I have noticed that the HD channels don't look any better. When I go into user settings for the cable box and change it from 480I to 720 or 1080, then the screen goes black. Do I need the component cables for the HD cable?
