I just got a call from my nephew in Colorado Springs Colorado and he is saying that his company is closing for Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday and won't reopen until Monday. The boss told him payday is Friday so he can't get his check until Monday.
This doesn't seem legal to me. I think he should have to be given the check no later than Weds. He could be told not to cash it until Friday but I don't think it's legal to make him wait until Monday if normal payday is Friday.
The other option is that the boss would have to come in Friday and hand out checks.
Any labor lawyers out there that know the laws on this?
I know California laws but have no clue about Colorado.
