College v. Love (especially if you have been in this situation, please answer)?

I've been dating a guy for five months now and in September we will both be attending college. However, our colleges are about an hour and a half to two hours away by car. He will most likely be working and I am going to try to get a job on campus but I'm not too sure how that will work out right now. We will enjoy our summer and try to spend time with each other on weekends, breaks, and summer vacation through the four years of college. We both know during the week it will probably be hell since we wont have much time to talk between school work and work. (Probably a few text messages here an there and a 20 min phone call at night) So, my question is for anyone that has been in this situation before...is it unrealistic to believe it will work out? We have discussed college and we both want to hold on to each other. Although I am still young, I truly believe I am in love and he feels the same. He said that he wouldn't just want to break up because of college...he atleast wants to give it a try and if it is really really hard then we will see where to move from there. Also the idea of a long distance relationship came up. Like we only talk a little during schooltime (but not seeing other people) and then during breaks spend lots of time with each other so that way we still enjoy college experience but yet still have eachother...im sorry this is long but I would like to hear your opinions....thanks so much!!
