College sports and recruitment?

Im 15, and I live in Florida. Im a student-athlete (basketball) for my school. I would LOVE to get a sports scholarship to a college. But the problem is, the colleges I wanna go to are... well, in California. I wanna use sports as a tool to get to college, (not saying, academics arent important...) but how exactly do I get noticed by scouts from Cal. colleges?

College scout are always on the lookout. You have to have exceptional skills, be in the papers and your stats have to be the best in the conference. Another thing you're going to need is a good coach. You're coach is the one that is going to get your name out there, contact scouts and tell them to come to the games, he's almost like your manager.

Since you live on the other side of the country, you're best bet is just to play hard. Be number 1 in your conference in whatever position you play. Make people notice you. Scouts look at stats.
