College Financial Question?

I am a guy with poor credit, not much cash on hand, -- is there a way for a guy like me to be able to afford a college that is expensive (private), if you know a way (or guess) please share your ideas I'm in need of ideas. I'm also over 24, and w/ no co-signer. What would be the ideal way? and I'm not interested in selling my kidney or going in prostitution. - my FAFSA result was only able to let me borrow little fund with almost no grants. What should I do?
 
Contact the financial services office at the university that you would like to attend. Make a phone call there and explain your situation. Better yet, ask them what scholarship you may qualify for, what the requirements for receiving are. Be sure to consider not just that university but others in your area as well. Are there any public or private universities in the area? Call them up and see what they have to say. You may be surprised how much they could offer you in comparison to the university that you would like to attend. If there are no other schools or you can not afford it, even after you make an attempt to contact the schools, see if you can attend a less expensive school- community colleges typically have very affordable rates which can be up to 1/5 less than a university. Receiving some education is better than none at all.
