College dorm life... how is it and do you think it's worth it for me? financial aid...

...cover it or not? Hello I can't decide if I want to get a dorm or just drive everyday the college is about hour away and most likely a hour and a half with traffic and the college only has classes monday-thursday. So I was just wandering do you think it's worth it. I was just thinking it would help me focus more on school because driving that much everyday would really get to me after awhile and if I lived at a dorm I could just walk to class everyday. How are dorms I know there small but are they that bad? What's the pro's and con's of them. Also I wandering if financial aid would help cover it or will they just take part of the money that would be for my money for the college? Oh and my girlfriend would be pretty upset if I got one because I would barely see her any one got any idea how to ease her but get this she said when she goes to college she wants one and I was like what about me and she was like I don't care urgh girls sometimes.
 
If it's your first year of school and you are able I would certainly get a dorm. You are going to learn how to make friends, deal with different personalities, you'll be able to concentrate and not concentrate and learn how to cope with that. If she's already being selfish then it's probably over anyhow. You need to experience new people, places and ideas. GO DO IT!!
