College and Law Enforcement??

What degree should I get before joining the force?? I want to go to a 4 year college, so what degree should I get?? I want to get the highest degree or form of education that will help me steadily move up in law enforcement??

And does anyone know the requirements (Act scores and GPA's) for Stanford, Harvard, and Yale? And do these offer degrees in Criminal Justice?
 
If you have the brains for one of those schools then you should become a lawyer, then you can really help people if you want to. You can choose to be any type of lawyer and really make a difference for lots of people :-)
