I'm really interested in going to Santa Clara University and I had a few questions about admissions. I'm only a sophomore so this is just some preliminary investigation.
I will have enough credits to graduate high school after my junior year and have been looking into it.
However, collegeboard tells me that they require 4 years of English for admission.
I have not taken all of the credits in four years worth of school, however, by the end of my Junior year I will have 15 English credits.
(3 years of debate class both semesters, A year of literature and Composition, One semester of Adv. Comp and one semester of advanced contemporary literature, One semester of Shakespeare and one semester of creative writing, a year of AP Lit and Comp, A semester of film analysis)
I will have also completed Biology, Chemistry, and Physics along with Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Pre Calculus. Also, AP European History, AP US history, World Culture, Current Events, 3 years of French and 3 years of orchestra.
Is this sufficient?
Also, what are my chances of getting in?
For personal reasons, 4 years of high school is going to be very hard for me.
I have a 3.8 GPA and got a 33 on the ACTs.
740 on SAT Critical Reading
710 on SAT Math
Thanks! Any additional feedback would be nice.
