College Acceptance...All A's and one B?

Hi, I'm a sophomore, and so far I've been getting straight A's for freshman year. But last semester, I got one B. Will I still get accepted into top schools like Yale, Standford, Harvard, etc...? I understand this will lower my chance of getting accepted (and I feel like dying of sorrow now) meanwhile taking me off the possibility of being valedictorian. I feel horrible. Is there any way I can increase my chances into being accepted? =(

Also, if I take an AP class and don't pass the AP exam at the end of the year (just for example), then do I still get my GPA raised because it's an AP class, or does it remain the same even if I took an AP class? (As in does it still add on to my GPA weight if I don't pass the exam?)

And...is there a maximum amount of AP classes that colleges would accept/count?

I'm so sad about my grades now. I'm currently studying my butt off so I can maintain my straight A+'s for this semester =(.

I should also start being crazily involved in extracurricular activities and initiate the studying process for SAT.

Can someone who had previously been accepted into the best colleges in U.S. educate me by telling me how they made it? =)
