coding for setting up a automatic mail reminder in asp.net?

My project is featured in such a way that, when i click one button ,ie(for Approval), the respective person has to get an mail reminder,
And also if that same mail is not viewed for more than three days, automatic reminder has to setup again , all these i have to do from coding .
help
