Has anyone ever been told this is all due to TMJ problems. I see a prof of oral medicine who says I have TMJ problems. I have been wearing a splint for 2 years without any success.
In Canada I was told I had ulcerative esophagitus after an endoscopy.
I am taking Nexium but no help. I have also problems with popping in my ears and pulsing noises coming from my left ear. This is supposed to be Tinnitus.
My throat was not too bad today but I am just after having a cup of tea and a slice of toast and it is going crazy. It happened instantly.
I can see changes in my throat from what it used to be. My throat looks like a deep pink colour and I can no longer see my tonsils.
I have found if I squeeze either side of my neck on the pulsing arteries part, I can make it decrease.
My neck sometimes feels that it is being squeezed tightly but it is is very bad first thing in the morning and the prof says it is because I am clenching my jaw but the splint he gave me does not help.
It is absolutely horrible and getting worse. I have also been taking Nexium for several years for GERD but again no help.
Help!!!!

So sorry to hear about your discomfort.

Have you spoken to your doctor about the possibility of having surgery for reflux? There are various procedures that are usually best for people who cannot obtain relief from medication and lifestyle changes. The oldest procedure is called fundoplication, but there are two or three newer techniques available.

It sounRAB like you may have two different conditions ongoing: one being the TMJ and the other the reflux. TMJ can certainly lead to your ears popping, tinnitus, etc.

Hope you feel better soon. Maybe other forum merabers can offer you more insight.
