And the jokes, they keep on comin.'
Whatever he did for Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney Thursday night, Eastwood certainly made the day for comedians.
Two days after his bizarre appearance at the GOP national convention in Tampa, in which he rambled on for 15 minutes to an empty chair meant to represent President Obama, comics are still having a go at Dirty Harry, now 82.
Said Jay Leno in his Friday night monologue on The Tonight Show: "Clint Eastwood said he got the idea earlier in the day when he saw John McCain talking to an empty chaise lounge at the hotel pool."
And this is from Jon Stewart's Daily Show: "This is the most joy I've gotten from an old man since Dick Cheney non-fatally shot one in the face."
And Stephen Colbert on his Colbert Report interviewed Eastwood's chair.
Yuck, yuck. This could be the comedic gift that keeps on giving, all the way to the election.
