Clear, serous fluid coming from wound.?

I've had this wound for about a week. It was red, leaked serous fluid, and stung to the touch. It appeared to be fine after a few days. But after I gently exfoliated the area with a towel, the wound started leaking the clear, watery fluid again.

Should I let the wound dry or keep it moist?
What can I do to help heal the wound?
After the skin on the wound heals, how long do I have to wait before I can handle the area normally?
