Cleaning the carbs on a 1992 Suzuki Bandit?

Can I just spray some carb cleaner in the carbs to clean them or do they need to be completly taken apart, and also is it my carbs. The bike will run with the choke on, but when I tke the choke off it shuts off any ideas?
