We purchased a new 2 seater lounge recently, made from olive green velvet like material. (mental blank as to the correct name.. oops)
I just discovered my kids put a small blue pen mark right in the middle of one of the cushions!
I have been told to use 'rotten milk' but I don't really like that idea as I think that would make a mess that also stinks. Any Ideas? I just don't want to make it worse...
It's VELOUR!!

Call a local upholsterer, they usually know, if not, email the manufacturer.

You can try the solution from Dryel, the home dry cleaning kit. It works for most stains. Of course, try it on a hidden spot to make sure it won't take the colors off.

Take a Q tip and dip in alcohol, dab very carefully and have a tissue to blot. Best wishes The longer you wait, the more it will set.

Hopefully the cushion is able to open via a zipper. Test a small inconspicuous area for color fastness using rubbing alcohol. If the color and fabric remain unaffected, Place a clean white cloth under the stain and pour the rubbing alcohol over the stain, working it in gently with another clean cloth. Keep adding the alcohol while changing the rubbing cloth and moving the cloth underneath. As the alcohol makes it way through the material, the ink will be dissolved and absorbed by the cloth underneath.

If it's suede, try dabbing with white vinegar. But be sure to use a scrap of suede or a suede brush to restore the nap and to keep it looking new.

Check out the queenofclean.com if it's not suede, you may find a solution there.

Good Luck
