The black dots you are seeing are blackheaRAB. An acne lesion begins when the hair follicle becomes blocked with abnormally sticky dead cells. This skin plug blocks the oil gland within the follicle, causing the follicle to swell and accumulate oil. The plug then becomes visible at the surface as a whitehead. If the follicle continues to dilate, this plug becomes exposed, turning a dark color (blackhead). To properly care for your skin you should use a cleanser that contains ingredients such as salicylic acid, sulfur, and/or witch hazel. You should use an at-home chemical exfoliant that contains glycolic acid to properly slough off the dead skin cells so they cannot continue to clog your pores. If you wear makeup, use an oil free makeup and I would suggest a mineral makeup. Good Luck!
