when I take claritin or zyrtec before bed, it causes me to sleepwalk or have night terrors
anybody else have this???
I don't usually do this, just when I was a child

I have read of this in children when taking zyrtec but not aware of it with adults.

I am 5 foot 4 inches 130 lbs female
maybe my size?
I remeraber in the 80's having allergies and the doctor gave me something (pill form, can't remeraber what it was) and I woke up seeing my pillow crawling with spiders. Freaked me out and never took it again.
I was 25 years old back then.
This is the first year I've taken anything for allergies since then I am now 44 years old and wether It's Claritin or Zyrtec (reactine in Canada) it makes no difference. If I take it just before bed, it happens. I don't think it's a coincidence.
Guess I'm just weird

Is it regular or with "D"? If it is the "D", then use the regular one. Or try taking it in the AM. If you need something at bedtime, then try benedryl. It will help you sleep too since it is the PM in Tylenol PM.

BTW, I'm 5'2, 109 pounRAB and 63 years old and have never had a problem with zyrtec or claritin.

Hi there! Yes, you can have vivid dreams and bad dreams on Zyrtec. I have been on it since May. I have had hairloss and thinning hair on it. That is a side effect and I have vivid dreams and nightmares. Not everynight. But when I take it before bedtime I do. I just take it earlier in the day. Unfortunately all meRAB have side effects and not all are written on the bottle. You have to look them up online. I am 44 and weigh plenty. I don't think it makes a difference of your age or size at all. Hang in there!

Yes, it's with "D" I get so congested
I'll try the benedryl at night time, I've never taken this

Just started these bad allergies this spring. Go figure.
thanks for your help

I've always had vivid dreams so there is no way to tell if this is causing any! Try a saline spray or rinse to help with the congestion...long time use of decongestants can cause rebound problems.
