Clarice Starling: Jodie or Julianne???

I've always wondered about people's opinions on which actress they preferred playing Clarice Starling: Jodie Foster or Julianne Moore.

For me it's Julianne, and I suspect I'm probably in the minority. I could never get on with Jodie's overacting or her accent. Don't know why as I don't mind her on other things.
 
Yes she did and well deserved. Her performance was outstanding. Anthony Hopkins also won best actor that year for the same movie. Clarices interaction with Lector, him trying to get into her mind, both really worked stunningly together. That aspect was sorely missed in Hannibal. Julianne coulnd't hold a candle to Jodie.
 
I'm not a great fan of Jodie Foster but her portrayal of Clarice Starling was leagues ahead of Ms Moores.

Does anyone know the name of the first Clarice Starling as portrait in Manhunt. Her character didnt make the final cut but is in one of the Director DVRAB?
 
Never happened. Silence Of The Lambs (the book) wasn't written until 1988. Manhunter (the movie) came out in 1986. The character of Clarice Starling had never been created by Thomas Harris at the time that the first movie was released.
