hi, im a BIG fan of Civilization 4!... but i cant play it to save my life.... What i mean is i dont get anything thats going on in it. I understand that the more resources you have (hammer, bread, gold) effect how fast you build.. but there seems to be alot more to the game! At the mo im using the (recomend) feature. I have had about 4-5 games on warlord setting and im getting destroyed each game. This is how my game normally plays out.
1st i start off, making a city (capital) then building a warrior with my first city to defend it, (also allowing for it to grow)
2nd i built a settler
3rd while i find a new area for a new city i start building Another warrior to defend that when its built. I carry on like this untill i have about 3-4 citys built. I start then building barricks in some of them or features to help the citys exspand quicker. I keep building military units (normally archers) and spreading them out to the citys to help defend them (or one to help explore) after i have 2-3 units in each city i start working on workers. When there made i put them on auto Improve. While there building roads i normally try and build a Wonder with what ever city can build one fastest. i Normally go for a wonder that i think can help (one that effects all citys or something) Id start then building up a small army to place randomly around my citys. When i get to add upgrades to the units i normaly upgrade archers with city defence, warriors with +10% strength (i never normally upgrade them with forest defence/attack or hill defence. Is this right?) Anyway by the time i fele ready to start moving into enemys lands i kinda feel im right behind them (military wise) when i try to attack there citys myarmy normaly gets wiped out and they lose a few casulitys. The catapults and seige weapons dont seem to do much. sorry for spelling >< its not my strong point
Does any one have Any tips? I have seen lots of stratergy sites thta tell you what to build when... but that seems a bit pointless.. id rather know what to look for so i can build strats my self
... can any one help??
