Citing a book for a research paper! please help!!?

I have a book by an author and then I have another book by the same author but has a different editor and I was wandering how you cite it in a paper since they both have to the same last name. Thanks!!
what do you mean by that? in a regular time you would put (author's last name, pg #) but how would it be with the editor?
actually it has an author for a foreword author not a publisher..sorry about that
