circuit Overload??

I've trying to make a phone call and when i press dial on my phone it says "calling" but it doesn't make the call nothing but silence, could it be circuit overload or just a phone problem?

does the call complete if you try it again? i have noticed this too, although very rarely, during peak hours. i think that since cricket uses only a very small amount of spectrum they wait until some traffic frees up to begin the call. i think also the whole session times out after a certain amount of time. and the phone just goes back to standby. this is all a guess as i am not really familiar with the technical aspects of cricket's network.
