Circle N has a circumference of 16(pi) milimiters. What is the area of the

shaded region to the nearest tenth? On the left and right of the circle there are two angles of 120 degrees.

Can I get some help?
There are two angles of 120 degrees on the left and right, they are the shaded parts of the circle.

well this is how oyu dos its:

first you add the 120's together to get the total shaded angle.
so there is 240 degrees of shaded angle
since there is 360 degrees in a circle and 240 is shaded then 240/360 is the percent of the shaded circle. that is 2/3.

so no the circumference is 16pi since C=2pi*r we solve for r.
16 pi = 2*pi*r
16 = 2r
r=8

now use this radius to find the area of the entire circle
a=pi*r^2
a=pi*8^2
a=64pi

sice we determined that 2/3 of the circle is shaded we take 2/3 of 64pi
2/3 * 64pi

so the area of the shaded region is 42 2/3 pi. or 131.04 sq mm
