Cingular Video on E61

I've just added the unlimited internet bundle so I can use the video portion of my Cingular service, only it still won't connect. I've called Cingular support and used their "first line of defense" tech support to no avail. Since they don't support the phone they can only go so far. I have no problem with Opera getting online, but wondered if anyone can e-mail me their advanced etc. settings, who is already using the video feature, so I can see if it will work.
Thanks!

Wow...I wish I could remember the work around. This was a hot topic 6 months ago or so and I was able to use Cingular Video without any issues. I know it has something to do with accessing the medianet site through the html server and option #6 was cingular video. If you go through services it will never work. I think your best bet is to go on NokiaUSA and have them resend your settings. I know your able to get on-line as it is but somehow that worked for me. Then access media net through the real web browser.

Funny you mention the medianet site #6 option cuz that's what I've been doing and what Cinular had me do. I'll try resending the settings again and see if it works. Thanks, and stay tuned...

It threw me for a loop as well because option 6 in services is something totally different. You'll know your in the right place as your pointer will begin to work with media net as it does with the full browser. Goodluck!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; Nokia E61/0618.06.05; 9730) Opera 8.65 [en])

not sure what you mean by "pointer will begin to work". Are you referring to which link you select, the word "play" or rhe highlighted words?

sorry...I meant the icon that is similar to a mouse pointer that allows you to move freely and click on a link. In the "services" browser their is only the option to scroll up or down rather than move the mouse pointer around.

I can get Cingular Video to work on my E61, but only when I use MediaNET, not when I use Wifi. Haven't figured out how to get it to work through WiFi.

For using it through MediaNET, I just go to default browser, and go to cingularvideo.cingular.com and it works fine. Try that.

I dont think I was able to access it using wifi either. I cant remember though as it's been so long. Either way, the vids are so low res that it's not much longer than 30 seconds on an Edge connection. For the most part, Cingular Video is worthless to me. If I were running 3g it would be for web browsing mainly.

thanks for the suggestion but no luck. I'll go on cingular's web site and see if they have some other settings that aren't waht my unit received. let you know.

...just accessing cingular.cingularvideo.com (or whtever) didnt work for me either the first time. It's all about the settings sent to you by Cingular and then accessing it only from the "full" browser menu rather than the 'services' browser...took me a while to get it going (a few hours or so) but it wasnt worth it after all the hype....hate to burst your bubble.
