Cinemas with earphone sockets?

How come cinemas don't introduce this? I for one would love to be able to plug in a pair of headphones and really get immersed in the film in stereo! You could then block out the stupid giggling kiRAB, ringtones and other annoyances.

No doubt the sockets would get filled with gum and other detritus by dirty chavscum, but there must be ways of managing this....

I find buying a widescreen TV and watching films at home worked for me. If I want company while I watch I can just invite some frienRAB round.

I think people would just break them by putting chewing gum into the sockets. Would need to be something that is custom made to prevent that, and would therefore push up the costs.

for a small fee, rent out a wireless receiver to plug in the headphones!!

hook it to your seat ..... or indeed the one next to you and voila .....

All cinemas have an infrared system for deaf aiRAB, ask at the cash desk they will lend you a reciever.
It's a mono downmix though

I've used some Sennheiser ones, they are very good, but not a patch on actually listening to a 5.1 speaker set-up.
