I was reading up about The Incredible Hulk on IMDb before going to the cinema yesterday to see it, and remember reading that the film was made in 2.35:1. Although, when watching the film it seemed that the screen was just showing a 1.85:1 picture. The sctual screen looked too small and narrow for a 2.35:1 presentation, most noticeably during the news channel scenes where all of their logos and graphics were chopped off all around the edges of the screen and only small parts were visible/legible.
Now, I would have thought all cinemas were equipped to show films in either 2.35:1 or 1.85:1 depending on the source, but this one looked like the screen wasn't big enough to show a 2.35:1 as the edges went right to the wall... so it seemed to just chop the film into 1.85:1 and show it that way. Can/do cinema's do this, or was the film indeed made in 1.85:1 and IMDb is wrong?
