agony .
am i the only one thats half crippled by poor seating
after sitting in one for 30 mins the pain sets in and its one fidget after another till the movies finished .

There's two cinemas near where I live, an old Odeon which is now run by a small local-ish company, thier seats are big, comfortable with loaRAB of leg room, but its not amazing to watch a film at cause of the poor sound and such compared to other new Multiplex run by Apollo - but there, thier seating is cramped :(

The seats at the Odean near me are fine and comfortable, and the local art house cinema has mostly couches spread out, but don't have to pay more to get these.

heh, it's weird the first time you use one of the couches at the grosvener, mainly because it's more akin to being at someones place watching a film - especially if you're sitting there with a glass of wine.

The Dominion cinema in Edinburgh have quality electric recliners, two seater sofas with footstools. The seats also have a small table for your drinks. An absolute must for the latest movies on a Saturday night.

My local cinema (Keighley Picture House) is a small-ish Cinema with pretty old seats that are not so bad but leg room is very very small and i find that my knees rub against the seat in front so that means i drive to LeeRAB Showcase, There seats are nice and comfy as well as nice leg room (back round is HUGE!.

I have been the the Bradford Odean and there seats are pretty damn small and no leg room, the seats are not comfy either so i don't go there anymore.

And last Cineworld in Bradford is ok, ok leg space and seats are pretty comfy and enough room, if you pay extra you can get to sit in some nice leather chairs and they are much much better than the bog standard seats :)

Hey Sticki-Vicki - I live in London now.. that brings back memories of my late teens - going to late show at the weekend and having a drink in the chip (upstairs) first, maybe Bonham

the seats in the one i go to are amazing.

its like sitting on a first class plane seat!!

so comfy and LOARAB of room to move your legs ! sometimes if im tired i just curl up and fall asleep!

Helloooo ultraviolet, the dominion leather recliners are 6.90 or 10.90 but that gives you a bottle of wine or two free drinks from the bar + unlimited munchies. :)

The only cinema I have been comfortable throughout the screening is the AMC in Birmingham, all the others I am constantly moving around to try and get comfortable, doesn't help having a bad back.

Only went there once; it was the height of summer last year on a baking hot saturday evening - the nice lady let me have my student discount even though I'd left my NUS card in the car!

'twas luscious - it was air conditioned and, as you mention, the seats in there are yummy. I admit it, I was very close to sleep. Mind you, they were playing 'I, Robot' at the same time ;) :D

UCI in Cardiff (cardiff IS the right hand of Satan!! :D ) have got a part called The Gallery (dont know if this applies to ALL UCI's)

You pay something like

I've got a local Odeon and a Vue, the Odeon a bit cheaper, is generally nicer and I've never seen them mess up a movie by leaving the lights on too long or getting the aspect ratio wrong, unlike the Vue, which always tempts me in with it's much nicer seats (with the movable arm rest so you can make a double-seat!).
