Cinema de Lux?

According to reports the cinema in the Westfield shopping development in White City, London, will be run by Cinema de Lux.

Anyone been to one of these? Are they better than Vue, whose nearby Shepherd's Bush site has a good choice of films (including European cinema) but is understaffed and has permanently faulty toilets? I couldn't find a UK web site for Cinema de Lux - anyone know the URL?

I looks like the one they're building in Derby is quite swish.

Here's a link

Kind of like the "Premiere Screen" concept that Virgin cinemas had. Cinemas like this are very popular in London - ticvket are so expensing anyway that paying 2 or 3 extra quid to have a posh environemt is more appealing. I'm looking forward to it. Hope they have a film club!

Derby is open now.
Think Leicester opens next, then Bristol, then White City early next year (the shopping centre opens 30 Oct but the cinema is later).

I wouldn't be surprised if Vue Shepherd's Bush closes within a year. I work on the edge of the cinema industry and the people I know say that neither chain will be interested in any sort of price war.

Just seen on another forum that the Westfield cinema may now not open as a Cinema de Lux. The theory is that Vue may move in instead, but treat it as a "boutique" cinema whilst keeping open the mainstream Vue across the road.

Does anyone know if this is true?
