Our sliding door, kind of came off the tracks, when it got opened too hard. We went to the dealer to see about getting it fixed and they said it would be nearly $200 to fix and would take all day. Anyone know if it is really worth that much and time conssuming? Or does anyone know how to fix it with out too much hassle?

It could be big job if the bushings are worn or something is bent .But it could be an easy fix.

maybe you can take it to the dealership and hope there is a recall on it in which it would be free. Also take a good look at it and see if you or a friend couldn't do it for you. You say it just slide off the tracks maybe loosen some bolts and push it up too aline it back onto the tracks.

A dealership that charges 200 dollars and it takes all day, so figure ten hours the shop is open, divided by the 200, they charge 20 dollars an hour, how do they stay in business. I would say that's a smoking price, how much did you expect it to be 25 dollars?

$200 dollars hardly anything....its 2 hours labor and no parts. I have never put one of these doors back on track and who knows if there is anything bent or broken or worn on the door that needs to be replaced but I could easily see it taking 2 hours. I don't think that is too expensive.

That's to much money and to time consuming for that job.I wont to say that all you have to do is remove the stop that's in the track that keeps the door from opening to far. Iv'e put a few back in the tracks before , but it been awhile sence i did one ,you might have to loosen the bottom rollers on the door as well. I do knopw that it's not all that hard . I',m sure you could do it if you take your time .
