Chrysler Sebring Air Conditioning problem?

My 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible has an air conditioning problem. Last year it seemed it only worked when the compressor kicked on but this year it will work for about 10-15 mins. then it will loose its cool air and there will no longer be any cold air. After a few mins. or after turning the car off and back on it may work again for about 10-15 mins. I have no idea what could be causing this and mechanics have told me it could be some kind of computer problem because nothing was wrong with the air conditioning. Anyone had this problem or know whats going on?? Do i need to take the car and get the computer scanned?
 
It sounds like possibly the expansion valve is freezing up. Go have it evacuated and recharged. That could be all you need.
