Chrysler is going bankrupt I just bought a Dodge Challenger R/T.?

Hello Everyone,

I just purchased a Dodge Challenger R/T and I’m overseas right now and expecting to get it in 2 weeks. But now Chrysler is going bankrupt does this mean they’re not going to make anymore Dodge Challengers? Will my vehicle lose its value? GM might go bankrupt too if they don’t come up with a plan soon does that mean the new Camaros won’t come out?
 
Chrysler FILED for bankruptcy, which is not the first time, and it's probably the best thing they can do right now to becoming financially stable. Nobody who works for Chrysler wants to give up their job, and the company will continue to operate for the forseeable future. Bankruptcy is more of a state of finances, and once a company declares bankruptcy, there are several things that can legally happen only in that state. Contracts are no longer valid, and retirement benefits do not have to be paid. There are even be limits on executive pay and compensation, which is why GM has been doing everything it can to avoid bankruptcy: the executives don't want to loose their salaries. Chrysler had been trying to negotiate a deal with labor unions, but they didn't want to compromise, and I don't think the exec's want to compromise their own benefits either. It's complicated, and there's so much negotiating that it's hard to keep track of what is certain and what is speculation.

I think the company is making a good effort to turn around though. Last year they hired Jim Press, who is credited with much of Toyota's success in this country. They also got rid of Trevor Creed, a mechanical engineer who was put in charge of design. The guy who designed the 300 has come up with a Challenger concept that is apparently very impressive, and next year Dodge will offer a hybrid version of the RAM truck.
