other Christians? How are they supposed to know any more about God than you do? All that you have is the bible, which you can access at any time. And if you take the bible seriously, you're going to get some messed up guidance anyway. But once you elicit knowledge that is not said directly in the bible, you're contradicting the sanctity of the bible and thus removing the one source of evidence for your belief.
Am I wrong, or is Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus as presented in the bible? Sure, you can have a different theistic position on the nature of the universe, but if it is different to the bible, then it is no longer a Christian belief. It's your own interpretation, which is fine, but you demean the value of the bible as evidence for your belief.
