Christians, what does it mean when we say Christ fulfilled the law? ?

Do you think Christ fulfilled all of the law or some of the law?
Are you under the law of the ten commandments?
Sabbath?
Is the law done away with? Are you free to sin?
Has the Sabbath been changed to Sunday?
That girl, You don't think it matters to God if we change his law?

Thou shall not kill is in the Old Testament law...so we were never under this law?
Christians are we now free to commit adultery? This is Mosaic law and we were never under this law?
Natassia, I agree with all of you we were not given Mosaic law ..So are we free to commit adultery or fornication?

the sabbath law was given to the Jews and yes, He fulfilled the Sabbath rest

we can't impress God with our righteousness of the following of the Law
 
Christ fulfilled the law of the O.T. but he did not do away with them
they are there for our learning,,when we get saved if we would just follow the Ten Commandants we would be right in the eyes of God,
 
The Law in itself was a prophecy...that Jesus fulfilled....

The Ten Commandments were written by God Himself. And those are commandments that will never be undone....because they fall under the greatest commandments of all: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.

But the Mosaic Laws (ie laws listed after the second set of commandments were issued)....they are no longer necessary. There is no point to them anymore. We do not have to follow those laws in order to be in God's good grace. JESUS provides us with an “easy burden” and a “light yoke”.

And the Mosaic Laws were for God's chosen people alone...the Israelites...to differentiate themselves from the pagan nations around them.
 
In general 'the law' refers to the Old Test.....so he fulfilled all the requirements AND the Prophecies of OT.
 
The "law" in Old Testemant times was animal sacrifice to demonstrate commitment to the laws God established at that time. These sacrifices were also a similitude of the atonement of Jesus Christ. Christ fullfilled the law when he took upon himself the sins of mankind.
 
The Mosaic laws were very strict. Nobody could keep them exactly. Every time the Jews broke a law they had to sacrifice something for doing so. They sacrificed every day because nobody could not sin. They needed a permanent sacrifice. This they got in the form of Jesus Christ, He gave his life as a sacrifice to end the Mosaic laws. Jesus' death is the fulfillment of the laws. The Mosaic laws were given to the Jews only, Not to Gentiles, Jesus made a new covenant with people of all nationalities,. He gave them two laws to go by. To love Jehovah with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. We no long have to give animal and vegetable sacrifices to atone for our sins, Jesus did so. Keeping the Sabbath was part of the Mosaic laws and is not done now.
 
I like Sunday. It doesnt matter what day you call it- my 7th day is different. but it's still my sabbath. God won't send me to hell for that.
 
The law can be sensitively open and strong at the same time. Only religious people see law and their religion as entwined.

Every man should see life as sacred, unfortunately I see it is religious people who kill each other even though killing goes against every religious order in the world.

I wonder if your god thinks it's more important to behold the sabbath as sacred than to not kill. What god would think that way unless god was a manmade fantasy. An excuse for bad behaviour.
 
When Christ died on the cross, all of the Old Testament was fulfilled.that meant we didn t have to follow sacrificing animals and to have our sins rolled back for a year by a priest.(they couldn t forgive you but could roll them back) untill the next year you had to come back make more sacificies and go through the same thing again.
When Christ died it was he who was the sacrifice for us .That we as Gentiles might be saved, The Bible says if the old law was able to save you or forgive sin there would be no need for the new law.......
the 10 commandments were for Jews only.
