For the most part, Yes.
Using logic in an argument allows a person to make the disagreement a personal one without seaming to be doing so, therefore changing the argument away from truth towards a matter of wits.
Therefore a wast of time and no resolve. (A dodge)
Further logic can be dangerous.
Science teaches evolution as truth with out real proff, ascribing to that which is not known as logical conclusion. (stilted science)
Science of any real truth and value is not based upon logic in any way!
Science has become rather the voice of the disgruntled in order to "stick it to the man", or any who disagree with the desperation that a requirment for resoults has driven them to.
Examples of stilted science; Psychology
Evolutionary biology
Anthropology
Carbon dating
Economics
Little to nothing can be profen in any of the aformentioned sciencses.
I know your question was not about the plane or the watermelon however I can not resist.
The plane would disintegrate upon impact. Plains are not as substantial as people seam to think.
If said plain were to be flying at or above 2100fps it mite survive.
I would have to know the make and model and how many take offs and landings how much weight, total, it has transported how old it is and a record of maintance, in order to make a real guess, and it would be a guess.
