Christians, Catholics, speaking about sexuality. . .?

Marriage is supposed to be for better or for worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, etc. The chances are, anyone who remains in a long term marriage will encounter sexual dysfunction in the relationship at some point in time. Is masturbation still considered wrong when one partner is unfulfilled but remains emotionally committed to their life partner. When the alternative to sexual frustration is divorce or cheating? Thoughtful answers appreciated.
Catholics are Christians, yes. The Question is worded such that it gets placed in R&S, and not the Lesbian/Gay/Transgendered section.
Aaron, age related health issues and long term emotional baggage are real potential problems in any marriage.
