Alright so if God exists and is omnipotent, I think we can all agree that he sees and knows everything that happens on Earth.
So my question is, are you okay with the fact that God does nothing to save dying people in agony or being tortured? Also, an omnipotent God would be fully capable of saving a person from any situation, even without breaking any rules he has set for himself about non-intervention. While this may be illogical to us, our logic would have no constraints on an omnipotent being.
Thoughts?
Booster- This is not blaming God, but rather asking why he does nothing to stop it.
Unsolved Miseries- Your answer assumes that all who go through horrible deaths receive salvation. Which, according to your Bible, isn't even the majority.
Kayla-What about the people that would go to hell after their death? Why take them out of their earthly misery...only to lead them to eternal misery?
Maria- To say that God prevents some destruction either implies that he picks and chooses who has to suffer, or that he isn't strong enough to prevent all destruction.
- What about people who die young and go to hell? I don't see how that in any way benefits that individual.
Hyacinth- Your answer proves my point exactly. If God was indeed present for your mom's recovery, why was he not for so many others? You cannot tell me you honestly believe every story turns out the way your mom's did. I'm not saying that everyone goes through suffering and dies, but the fact that even one does brings to question the presence of God. The fact that this number throughout history is in the billions is even more unnerving.
