Christian debate - Creationism vs Evolution?

I have been surprised at how many of my Christian friends are evolutionists... but I am a headstrong creationist...

While I accept micro-evolution, adapting to our environments, hence black and white people, and different languages and cultures...

Macro evolution to me just sounds like the most ridiculous thing for a Christian to believe. God made us in his image, he created humans to have souls, to have free will, choose him and go to heaven... everything else, that came later, with Jesus, the floods, etc doesn't change that... the way I see it, God loves us, US, humans, to send his only son to forgive our sins, so that our souls can go to heaven. I cannot accept that we were once animals, who evolved into the superior human creation... animals don't have souls, they don't have free will and decision about the spiritual, they live on basic survival instincts... they can't pray so that they're souls can go to heaven, they don't have souls.

Genesis 1:26 - Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

And God allows us to kill animals as a sacrifice to him... to eat animals... and yet, to kill a human is a sin, in the 10 commandments... there is no way in my mind I can accept that God puts us on a par with any animals...

So no, I can't accept macro-evolution, there is no way I believe God created animals to change into different species and eventually become humans... he loves us, he sent his son to die for us... not animals... humans, made in his image!
yes but he also said "he without sin cast the first stone"
Sorry my question is what do you believe and why?
So why are there no people in the world who are half-way between animal and human...EVOLVING?!? Why does God love humans not equally to animals? And why does he ask us to rule over animals?
Sorry I keep adding but I can't reply... this question was really to ask Christians why they believe in Evolution... Non-Christians/Atheists etc and evolution is worthy of a whole separate question but I was really just asking Christians... how they think it fits in with the bible...

Micro and macro evolution are the same thing. Macro evolution is simply micro evolution plus time. There is no difference between the two.

And as to your point about souls, you might be interested to know that the Catholic church has, for several decades now, told their congregation of a billion members that accepting evolution is not a threat to their faith. They hold that the creation of the human body can be attributed to evolution, and the creation of the soul can be attributed to God. And that is perfectly reasonable. Science is the study of the natural world, of which your body is a part of. A soul is something supernatural, and science can say nothing about the super natural because it's not part of the natural world.

Accepting the evidence for evolution (which is pretty clear) says nothing - either positive or negative - about the existence, nature, origin or fate of your soul.

"So why are there no people in the world who are half-way between animal and human...EVOLVING?!?"
Evolution is an ongoing process, it never stops. Everything that has ever lived is half way between one thing and another (assuming it has children). Did you know the average human baby, when it is first born, already has over 130 mutations in its DNA? Evolution at work.

There's a video series on YouTube I think you might enjoy watching. You seem open minded, even though you describe yourself as headstrong, but I think you really are curious about the answer to your question. Remember, you don't have to accept evolution to understand it, and I think if you did understand a little more about it, you just might consider accepting it, or at least understand why people do.
