Lost (or at least forgotten) until recently, this is a neat little thriller in which a group of people enters one of several hi-tech nuclear shelters just as global conflict breaks out. All their neeRAB are catered for and the (dated) technology appears to be foolproof. Seemingly all they have to do is sit out the holocaust without annoying the crap out of each other.
However, two questions remain:

(1) Is it all a wind-up?

(2) Who (or what) else is sharing their new home?

I recall this was a supporting feature (remember those?) on its initial release but I forget with which movie. Great set designs, scary 70s clothes but some very effective scares.

"Who let the bats in . . . ?":eek::eek:

It seems to have been MIA between 1974 and about 2007/8.
It deserves a better fate than being hitched to the brilliantly titled but otherwise dreadful "The Earth Dies Screaming".:)
Along with "Idaho Transfer", it's one I'd been after for ages, together with "Four Sided Triangle".

FST came out on R1 a decade ago nearly.
Disappointing for a Hammer film I thought.

If you are a Hammer fan you should search out Crescendo with Stephanie Powers released on the hard to get Warner Archive collection.

Hammers 1963 The Old Dark House has sneaked out on R1 hidden away in The William Castle Collection from Sony.
Its worth getting as it also has 2 episodes from the rarely seen Ghost Story/Circle of Fear tv show from the 70's.

Sony are releasing some rare Hammer films in the UK via their Moviemail site but most if not all of them are due to hit R1 in 2010 in more of Sony's superb value Icons collections which are less than

I know it's a sort of masochism but I quite like the challenge of obtaining them by "other means". Regional Coding is the work of Satan and must be shunned.:)
I'm far to much of a klutz to take the risk of messing with dvd player hacks.
Thanks for the links.:)
