Clueless in NY

Okay, so I'm in need of some advice, so I hope you all can help me out. I am currently a junior and plan to take my LSAT's next October, but I'm unsure as to what major to choose. Currently, I am a English major, but with a BA in English, my only avenue of employment (say if I don't get into law school) would be to teach, which I don't want to do. Many people are telling me to switch to Communications with a minor in Political Science, as I would be marketable in the employment industry if I choose not to go to law school (or if I just flat out don't get in). So here is my question for you all; would a bachelors in communications help me in finding employment (outside of retail)? Also, if I major in Communications, would it be harder for me to get through the admissions process when applying for law school? I just don't want to waste the next two years by studying something that will leave me unemployed, I need a good plan B.
Also, I've been looking into a major in Economics and a minor in Political Science, but math isn't my strong suit and the amount of units I'd need to graduate with a BA in Economics would keep me from picking up a minor in Political Science.
Please help :-/
