I finally have to migrate from Cingular Blue to the full GSM service so it's time for a new phone and I'm not sure what to do, I'll try and list my criteria and preferences and see what you folks suggest.
I currently have a Razr V3 and have loved it, it's worked great although I've been having issues with it breaking up which has prompted the migration. I don't generally use it with a headset but do connect to the internet occasionally via Bluetooth from my laptop or PDA.
I really like the size and style of the Razr but it seems the V3i is "just around the corner" and that it might be better to wait, if I go the Razr route.
I like the convenience of a PDA phone but not the size. I used a 6515 for a while and was very impressed, having everything in one unit (including GPS!) was quite amazing but it has some compromises. It is still a little big and clunky, I find PDA phones a little awkward to use due to the shape and, my biggest frustration, the 240x240 screen is a little sucky especially as quite a lot of PDA apps just don't fit well (especially GPS). It would however be kind of nice for checking baseball scores as the season starts as I never really got on with the phone "browsers" for accessing the net, I could also stream TV to it from my MCE PC.
In the Razr / 6515 sort of niches what other phones should I consider? There doesn't seem to be much that is that simialr to the Razr, I'm not too impressed by the SLVR (isn't it just like an open razr?) but wonder how long I'd have to wait for the V3i.
As for the 6515 it looks like the Moto Q will not be available on Cingular which is disappointing as it seems to correct many of the things that frustrate me in the 6515. Given that I wouldn't really want to go much bigger than a 6515 are there other viable options (Windows Mobile preferred by FAR) that I should consider?
Thanks for any help and guidance!
Chris.
