Choosing a major is college?

If I apply to a 4 year university, is it possible to choose 2 majors at the same time, and graduate within four years? Will it be too time consuming if I can do this?

Yes, it is possible if you start to take the right classes early and are prepared to work hard.

Any degree required a core set of classes, like english, math, etc. Once you get through those you work on your major classes. If the 2 major's are similar enough not to give you two different work loads then it's easier. But if the 2 majors are completely different then it will take a lot more time.

Note that many people don't finish Bachelor's degrees in 4 years any more. It is closer to 5 years for some.

You can do a double major. My major after I finished school was well undediced so I went to a community college to get the basics out of the way where I thought that the nursing program sounded great except that science is not my strongest field so I finally graduated with an Associates in Science.I transferred to a 4 year school, thought that I wanted to be a Biology since so many of my classes transferred but that was my mistake again since my minor was history and my second minor was Secondary Education.I dropped the Bio field and started the History field with a minor being SSC(social science composite) and the secondary minor SED(secondary education) when I realized that I did not to be a teacher a semester after I chose this path even though I have worked with kids at a day care for the past 9 years of my life.I am about to graduate with my BA in History and minor in SSC(social science composite) since that is what I love.Sorry for boring you with my story but you will change majors so many times in college that you have a back up plan in case things do not work out or you lose 20 hours with a major you wanted.Double majors are hard to do since my sister is doing Molecular Bio and Business but when you graduate you can pick which ever field you want to go and work in.You can tell by my story that I could of been done with school a lot sooner if things worked out differently but since I changed my mind so many times they did not and I lost a lot of hours.Yes double majors are rewarding, yes you can take summer classes but at the same time you are putting so much on hold with your life as I have seen people do with their double majors since it is yes time consuming.Think about it,talk it with your parents,go see different universities and what they require for the double majors...

Double majoring is allowed almost everywhere. However, you may consider going six years, where you can get a program such as "degree in three."

Also, keep in mind.. is it worth it? will it benefit you? how much money will it cost? will my employer like this degree?

I am going for two majors, a masters and bachelors... I am doing the following:
1. Virtual Schooling
2. Summer Terms
3. Additional Classes
4. "Degree in Three"
