Chicago

I saw the film Chicago yesterday and it was great. The songs were done in such a clever way and all the actors/actresses were outstanding particularly Rennee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Queen Latifah was good as mama morton. It officially comes out in two weeks, but in Leicester Sq. plays every hour at the moment. There was this really cool press conference in it where Richard Gere was this puppeteer manipulating all the reporters who were on strings and the ventriloquist saying things for Renee Zellweger.

I saw the show a couple of years ago in New York and not sure about the conversion to screen - will be interesting to see how it works out!

It works so well. Instead of the typical musical where all the songs are part of the action, all the songs are performed in front of an audience in the speakeasy as if it's Roxie seeing her life in songs.I was told it's a bit like Moulin Rouge in that aspect.

Yeh, i saw Chicago in the theatre about 2 months ago - and it was absolutely fantastic. however, i'm a little apprehensive about it being on the big screen. Dont know if it's gonna have that special sparkle to it. Im definately going to watch it when it comes out just tos ee what its like.

i also agree - Moulin Rouge was a bit crappy. i hope its nothing like that, otherwise i will get very bored.

just saw chicago and it was fab! great film - much better than Moulin Rouge. its prob a film that girls would prefer, not sure if blokes would enjoy it as much (altho it has got CZT and Renee zelweger in it).

i preferred it when i saw it in the theatre as the live singing, dancing and stunts made it even more impressive. however, this is still a top film - prob one of the best ive seen. i just love theatre way too much.

im glad they stuck to the same songs and script as the theatre Chicago and didnt add any crap. well worth a see it is. :)
